The Payroll Office of University of New Orleans process salary and wage payments for all Academic, Non-Classified
Professional, Classified Civil Service, Wage Intermittent, and Student Employees. The Payroll Office administers payroll
deductions required for Federal and State tax withholding laws, Medicare, social security, retirement contributions,
garnishments and child support as well as employee authorized deductions for Health and life insurance premiums and
supplemental retirement contributions.
The Payroll Office also monitors the tax deposit for Federal and State payroll taxes; along with the preparing of the Quarterly 941 and year end W-2's. We also submit monthly retirement contributions, which include the employee match to the retirement system, monthly health insurance premiums for employee and employer to the various health plans and process payment for all other payroll deductions. Other vital process of the Payroll Office is the moving of all Salary Expenditures to the appropriate budget accounts throughout the year and at the Fiscal year end, testing of all Peoplesoft Payroll updates, preparing various reports for departments and most importantly providing customer service to the UNO community.
